From Garden Roots to Wedding Blooms: Meet Fox Lane Flowers

At the heart of every bouquet from Fox Lane Flowers is a story of passion, growth, and sustainability. What began as a garden project blossomed into a full-time flower farming business rooted in organic principles and seasonal beauty. This October, we’re thrilled to welcome Fox Lane Flowers to our Eco Wedding Festival, where they’ll be sharing their stunning, planet-friendly floral creations with couples who care about where their flowers come from—and how they’re grown.

Tell us a bit about your business and how it started

My passion for seasonal flowers began almost 20 years ago when I trained in Organic Horticulture through the Soil Association. As a naturally creative person, and a keen grower, becoming a flower farmer and florist felt like a natural progression. Fox Lane Flowers started in my garden, but as demand for my flowers grew, I expanded into my neighbour’s gardens. Eventually, I had the opportunity to take on a larger plot at a community farm. That was when I made the decision to turn Fox Lane Flowers into my full-time business. I couldn’t resist the chance to grow on a bigger scale!

What makes your work eco-friendly or sustainable?

Fox Lane Flowers is committed to sustainable and eco-friendly practices. I grow all my flowers biodynamically and organically at Oakbrook Community Farm, which is certified biodynamic. My floristry techniques are designed to minimize waste by using biodegradable, reusable, or recycled materials and mechanics. I only use flowers that are in season and grown in the UK, predominantly by myself, or from other local flower farmers when needed.

What can couples expect to see from you at the Eco Wedding Festival?

At the Eco Wedding Festival, couples can expect to learn about the beauty of seasonal flowers and how to incorporate them into their wedding. I’ll be available to offer advice on which flowers are in season at different times of the year and how to create stunning arrangements that reflect the season. I also offer various options to suit different budgets, from providing DIY buckets of flowers to creating beautiful, large installations.

What’s your top tip for planning a sustainable wedding?

My top tip for a sustainable wedding is to focus on using local, seasonal, and preloved items, whether it's your dress, food, or flowers. Choosing these options reduces your carbon footprint and supports the local community, making your celebration both beautiful and eco-friendly.
