Blackfriars Priory offers a memorable backdrop for special events, whether it be a birthday, anniversary, baby shower or just a get together. We have three historic rooms available to hire, suitable for 2 – 250 guests.

Private hire quotes are bespoke, as we build them based on your personal requirements to make sure we don’t miss anything that is important to you or include anything that you don’t need.

the north range

The iconic North Range is ideal for celebrations of 50 – 250 guests. The 65ft scissor braced ceiling displays original 13th century oak beams that were gifted to the site by King Henry III. Coupled with the glass wall overlooking the ancient ruin, the North Range will wow your guests for truly special festivities. Our newly refurbished bar serves a range of locally sourced beer, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks or if you would prefer to treat your guests, we have a range of welcome drink options available.

the upper east range

Perfect for parties of 50 people or less, the atmospheric East Range is a more intimate room with heaps of charm. It features a scissor-braced ceiling, stone chimney stack and an array of unique windows. The wall of fairy lights add a warm glow to make a cosy atmosphere to enjoy special time with your family and friends.

If you require a bar, we can make one available in the nearby Thomas Bell Room serving locally sourced bottled beer, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks.

the lower east range

If you are looking for a small room to hire that still has lots of character and charm, the Old Kitchen in the lower East Range is perfect. Featuring the remains of a 16th century bread oven, a rare herringbone brickwork fireplace and a stunning window, up to 10 people can enjoy this space for an intimate event.
