Meet The Team - Ryan
Today we’re introducing you to Ryan, our Team Leader at the Priory who looks after you and the building on your big day. We caught up with Ryan to learn more about what being a Team Leader involves.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As the Blackfriars Team Leader my role is extremely diverse. I oversee the visitor experience of the site which includes managing the event set ups, looking after our customers and the venue during their events and making sure Blackfriars leaves a positive memorable impression on all of our visitors.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT BLACKFRIARS?
I have worked at Blackfriars for 8 Years!
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WORKING DAY FOR RYAN LOOK LIKE?
My working day changes all the time! It can involve preparing the site for a festival, looking after a bride, groom and their guests on their special day or giving people tours of our amazing priory.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT FROM YOUR TIME AT BLACKFRIARS SO FAR?
My highlight has to be the feeling you get when you have given a couple a beautiful wedding day they will always remember. There is no feeling like it!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FEATURE OF THE PRIORY?
My favourite feature of the priory is definitely our original scissor braced ceiling in the North Range. It's amazing and all locally sourced!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of work there is nothing I enjoy more than finding new walks with my dog and traveling abroad as often as possible - especially Turkey!

A fun fact about me is that I keep reptiles. I have a tortoise called Bruce and a Bearded Dragon called Darwin.
